When the Red Sox and A's played in Tokyo a few years ago, Oakland was the home team for both games.

when TB and MFY went, TB was home team (MFY didnt want to give up the home game) nad the people in Japan wanted to see the MFY in the pin strips so the MFY had to wear the home uni's

I'm somewhat interested in this mainly because I'm a big fan of Asian baseball. Taiwanese baseball has really struggled over the past few years, with the domestic league being rocked by a series of game fixing scandals. Atttendance is down, interest is down, and all the top prospects now sign with MLB teams instead of local clubs. If MLB wants to improve baseball around the world (which they don't, they only want to improve their bottom line), they should focus on fixing the domestic league, not bringing over MLB teams.

I think it is awesome. Not only is it unique and get the team some great exposure but we can now take our fail worldwide.

if the Diamondbacks don't play the Giants in a two-game series in Taiwan then they would open the 2011 season at the Colorado Rockies via sports620ktar twitter

Common sense says the Giants are the draw and the Diamondbacks are the sacrificial lamb. That’s a long ways to travel to lose a series.

Doesn’t MLB pay teams traveling overseas a fee for the inconvenience? Hmm… an alternative money stream. Nice.

Well thats two home games off the schedule.

Where can we farm out those Cleveland and Royals series?

They might have to retire Augies number to put butts in the seats for those games. Wink

Sutt bobblehead night would be HUGE! Laughing
