Well - that isnt REALLY what it said. Someone speculated that - from outside the org. It might be true - but we dont know at this point.

i also read on this board he tried to trade CS19 that morning....

im sure he has to have some say, and i wont be shocked if he makes a trade soon to show he is the new head-boss (hoss) in charge. he seems to want to put his finger prints on his new team

they got good results from him the first game, but the other four startss he was just horrible.

having a good attitude in the clubhouse isn't worth much if you can't contribute on the field.

Fellas on Baseball Tonight are convinced Dontrelle Willis is the latest victim of "The Thing". Whatever it is, it's been clear for 2+ years that he can no longer consistently throw strikes.

Very unfortunate. I don't think Dontrelle's ever met someone he wasn't friends with eventually, and the clubhouse really seemed to enjoy his presence.

I hope he sticks with the organization, maybe Triple-A Reno could do him some good.

I don't think he accepts his minor league assignment.

I dunno. He's got everything to gain from at least attempting to rebuild his head.

Except for a major league roster spot...
The Marlins wanted him last time he was DFA'd.

think they want him now?

he might take it, he said he wants to be here (he live in the area) and if he goes there he can be called up and when rosters expend im sure he will be back, and maybe it might be a chip to bring to the table if he wants to come back in 2011

I kinda hope he accepts assignment. Maybe he and the team hires a personal pitching coach to work through some things and he pitches some home games for Reno to get some live work. If things get better the team calls him back up with the rosters expand.

How about he gives up pitching, goes to Visalia and works his way up as an OF. There have been two recent cases of that, obviously.

I think he'd like to play in Florida and be on an MLB team for three months than play Reno and be on an MLB team for one month. Plus, the one month he'd be here, we would have a HUGE bullpen with September callups.

Well, a big deal was made about himself and his family moving to Arizona. So maybe it would be in their best interests for him to accept the assignment, and have his club's HQ be in the city he lives in.

Well now, this didn't take long (from Rotoworld)...

Giants signed LHP Dontrelle Willis to a minor league contract.

This should be in Ex-D'Backs On The Move, but personally, I feel like it needs to be in the Giants' Problems thread.

*shrugs* Dontrell has his own thread. I feel like it's a fitting way to bring closure to his (brief) time as a Diamondback

It was a joke, as in Dontrelle is part of the Giants problem now...

For a team that prides themselves in excellent pitching, I'm surprised they went after him.
