How are we going to acquire the best defensive catcher to flip to Toronto?

So Snyder's .999% Fielding Percentage doesn't equal good defense?

Nope. Fielding percentage means pretty much nothing.

Gambos a twit or Gambos twit? You make the call.

Dbacks will be in market for a closer for next season with all the money they are saving this year -- name I am hearing is Octavio Dotel

Dotel must live in Chandler

The Diamondbacks must want a closer in the worst way, because Dotel is ...

ah, eff it. He's not even worth finishing that.

Not all change is good, so they have to do it right. If all of their complaining about the K's the O produces results in them having the exact same O next year, they won't have accomplished much.

I dont get the point of that at all.

Where was the incentive to get better in the Edwin Jackson trade? No need for Jose Molina AT ALL

I have a feeling Laroche, Qualls and Snyder could be traded after this deadline, and before the waiver trade deadline.

Holy small sample size batman !!!

Snyder went from 6th in May to 76th thru June.

I agree of course, catcher fielding % is just one small piece of the puzzle for catcher defense.

Speaking of prospects, Patrick Corbin pitched his first start for Visalia today.

Solid line. He's performing very well at California league.

Nick saying Snyder to the Pirates is almost done and we are just waiting on the commissioner's office to approve the cash being exchanged.

What happened to the Pirates being cheap? Is AZ paying most of Snyder's salary?

I am just curious what we are getting back. It doesn't seem like the Pirates really matchup with the type of prospects we'd be looking for.

I would hope not, but....

Snyder's contract is a big hurdle and Arizona would likely have to pick up a large percentage of it to consummate this deal. He is making $4.75 million this year and is due $5.75 million next year. Snyder has a $6.75 million club option in 2012 or a $750,000 buyout. The 29-year-old is hitting .231 with 10 home runs and 32 RBI.

I'm not sure what the budget limitations are, and never will, but I would pay the rest of the salary this season, and at least the buyout in 2012, and then grab the best prospect available.

Get Rudy Owens... He's left handed, he's from Mesa... It's like he was meant to play for the AZ organization.

Can't forget about Timmy Alderson, former Scottsdale Horizon HS Husky.
The way he's been pitching for the last year+, his stock is dropping FAST.
(No, I don't think we're getting Timmy A.)
