Awesome interview. Telling it like it IS.

The way I see it, is that you can't polish a turd, and we have a lot of turds.

I heard it live, best and funniest radio I've heard in a long time. Gracie did sound like he was halfway through a 12 pack.

Have not read last nights game thread but did anyone notice Big Todd Walsh report that this team has resigned itself to losing? Shocked

Blow it up. Blow it up real good.

Fire sale has got to start soon. The sooner it starts the more money this team will save.

I concur but then you and me have been saying that for a while now and might be perceived as eternal pesismists.

Not pessimists, but realists... Wink

Why blow it up?
If the pen gets fixed, don't you think we're a pretty good team?

Hey I used to be an optimist but then I became a DBACK fan.

Over two years of bad baseball is enough.

I see only one way out and thats not going to happen.

Nope. They are selling that right now but Im not buying.

Its not just the pen its the whole staff.

Also not a fan of the coaches on this team.

I see nothing on the horizon that says we will become a deep playoff team. Hell I dont see anything that says we can make the playoffs.

Blow what up exactly? We have very few pieces that would actually bring enough back to make it wortwhile trading them.

I'm in the 'if the pen was better we'd be a good baseball team' camp.

Well, with our offense we can deal with somewhat crappy starters.
Next year our rotation looks like: Haren/EJax/IPK/Parker/body with a pulse. Looks pretty good to me. Haren's an ace (regardless of how he's pitching currently), EJax can be a good number two, IPK is a really good three (from what I'm seeing this year), and Parker has the talent to be a very good two.

And if we blew up the team, we wouldn't get rid of the coaches. We're stuck with them whether or not there's a fire sale.

Why? Coaches get fired all the time in baseball.

Not when their manager has a romantic relationship with the GM.

Seriously though, you really think AJ would be fired? I would be very surprised if he was.

They keep playing the way they are he will. JB can save face by giving him his old job back. At some point enough is enough.

They don't want to have three managers in the span of two years.

Rather that then having four consecutive 90+ losses in a row which is very likley what will happen if Hinch stays in charge.

All right: let's say that AJ goes to JB and says, "Give me my old job back (with my current contract, of course) and I'll step aside"; and JB agrees...

Who do you want to see become the manager?

Kirk Gibson?

Mark Grace?

Joe Btfsplk?

Hey, wait a minute... That's "JB..."

I'd love to see Mark Grace in uniform again. I also wouldn't mind Kirk Gibson taking over either.

I want Grace.
I wasn't a big fan until I heard that radio interview he did. Telling it like it is. That's how a manager should be. Nobody wants to be bullshitted.
