who they looking to get back cliff lee to make a run? and once he leave as a type A we can get two picks?

is gambo right on with this stuff?

i find it hard to believe honestly.... and if it is true makes me think abck to the post in the other thread about AJ and JB trying to ship out guys that are the leaders and dont like AJ.

if it is right, i wonder if that was the last straw that sent JB packing....

Hey ladies. This was lost in all the news of the last 24 hours.

The Brewers released Triple A outfielder Trent Oeltjen, according to Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Oeltjen had a July 1st "out" in his contract. Once exercised, the Brewers either had to promote him or release him within 48 hours. Oeltjen had an .851 OPS at Nashville, and was on a tear lately, so I'm sure someone will pick him up.

You mean the DBACKS could sign him put him on a calender with his shirt off for the ladies and give it away at the ballpark? Wink

I wish. I could sell a ton of those.

Got EJ's No No on Todays cover for this homestand.

Next issue up in the air. Thinking about Gibby or Miggy.

From Rotoworld:

According to SI.com's Jon Heyman, the Diamondbacks are "fielding inquiries" for Edwin Jackson.

Heyman also believes the Diamondbacks are seriously considering dealing at least one veteran from the group of Adam LaRoche, Kelly Johnson and Chad Qualls. Heyman doesn't think a Dan Haren trade is very likely. The Diamondbacks, though, could be as busy as any team as the trade deadline nears.

Tigers interested in Drew

Quote:
The Tigers are in the market for middle infield depth and have shown interest in Diamondbacks shortstop Stephen Drew, major league sources told FOXSports.com.

And those sources continue to indicate that Drew is among the (many) Arizona players who will be in play before the July 31 non-waiver deadline.

Interested clubs will pay especially close attention to Drew in the coming weeks. He was recently absent from the lineup because of a sore left knee and has only 13 at-bats in the team's last eight games.

Drew would be an offensive upgrade for the Tigers, who have had the second-worst shortstop production in the American League (.586 OPS). He would also be a long-term fit. Detroit doesn't have a set No. 2 hitter or everyday shortstop for the 2011 season; Drew, who won't be a free agent until 2012, could fill both roles.

Sure hope we've got somebody better than Abreu in mind to replace Drew at SS.

I would probably just keep Drew at this point. He isnt going to return much, and we dont have anyone outside of Abreu to replace him at SS.

Don't worry. They'll sign Edgar Renteria next year and call it good.
