All I know is somewhere in a luxury cabin home in Colorado Ken Ken is sweating this one out. Wink

Bob Nightengale USAT

# If deal gets done, the White Sox would send Daniel Hudson and prospect for Jackson, and take on Jackson's entire $8.75 million salary

I'd much rather use ERA+ times Innings pitched than xFIP or FIP times Innings pitched for calculating value.

ERA actually has a directly relationship to the results on the field. xFIP and FIP are the bizarro world equivalents.

Then you would be a bad GM.
FIP and xFIP measure a player's skill, and pretty much predicts their future performance. How many homeruns and walks they give up, and how many strikeouts they record, while ERA+ measures their past performance, which is not what you would be getting in a trade.

Jackson-Hudson deal is not off, it's just being delayed while KW tries to shock the world. Hudson for Jackson might still happen either way.

He will try to get Brett Myers and Lance Berkman in one swoop. How? Not sure, but he will try.

Rosenthal says three way deal between Nats, ChiSox and Dbacks still a possibility. He figures that even if that breaks down the Sox will still pursue the Jackson-Hudson deal.

Prince Fielder? They don't get much bigger than him.

What he is saying is that the three way deal for Nats to get Ejax, White Sox to get Dunn and Dbacks to get Hudson+another prospects is still on, but if that doesnt work out the White Sox will look to get Hudson for Jackson deal done and keep Jackson for themselves.

Edwin Jackson has been told he's been traded to the White Sox. Flip to DC next? via TBrownYahoo on twitter

Gambo just tweeted that EJax to CWS is done, details to follow.

Newest from Gambo:

Gambo620 Diamondbacks get pitching prospect Daniel Hudson and LHP David Holmberg for Edwin Jackson. Dbacks assume none of Edwins salary.

I think Kenny Williams will do his best to get a 1B/DH type masher, but if all else fails, will gladly hold on to Edwin Jackson.

Let's see how well the Diamondbacks did without committing more money to other team's players...

Coincidentally, MLB Network is showing a documentary on the White Sox Front Office...

Dbacks not paying any salary, and got a decent prospect. Not bad I guess if the intention is not being good for awhile.

Great move. Get out from the $8M+ and acquire a guy that figures to be in the rotation for 6 years.

Two pitchers have thrown no-hitters for the Diamondbacks during their 13-year franchise history, and both were traded away within months.

with no intention on competing, this is a nice trade. Shed EJax's salary and gain 5 years of control of a potential middle of the rotation starter.

DiPoto doing real well here by shedding key pieces without having to send cash along the way. Don't think we'll be that lucky if Snyder and LaRoche get moved.

Nothing overwhelming in the #s Holmberg has put up in rookie ball so far in his career, but he is a lefty and just 19 years old. Looks to have good control but pitches to contact.

Here is an January article on FutureSox.com about prospects. Hudson is highly rated and Holmberg broke into many top-10 rankings.

This is a really good trade, IMO.
Makes the Scherzer trade that much better.

2 young pitchers. Hudsons minor league stats look pretty good. I like this trade more than the Haren one.

If this is the return for Jackson - why didnt they get more for Haren.
