I would like to apologize for nutting on that waitress in 1982. I hope you can all forgive me.

Associated Press today wrote:
NEW YORK - Add Gatorade to the list of endorsement deals that Tiger Woods has lost.

A spokesperson for the drink, sold by PepsiCo Inc., confirmed late Friday that it had ended its relationship with the golfer.

"We no longer see a role for Tiger in our marketing efforts and have ended our relationship," a Gatorade spokeswoman said. "We wish him all the best."

Makes sense. He's not on tour now. Not competing. With no set timetable for his return.

What's Gatorade going to run with Tiger Woods currently?

Tiger walking out of a room. He reaches for a bottle of gatorade and downs it. Tiger then looks at the camera and says:

"After a tough hour in group therapy, nothing restores my lost fluids better than Gatorade!"

I missed this piece a couple of weeks ago, but what Phil did for Conrad's two children, paying for Holli and Stephen's college education when Conrad was down and out, was the sort of random act of kindness that can change people's hearts. When Conrad sent me a copy of his book Pride and Perseverance, above his signature he penned "Pay it Forward."

Dan Bickley / The Arizona Republic on February 26, 2010 wrote:
While the topic is taboo, no golfer has benefited more from the downfall of Tiger Woods, whose on-course achievements always seemed to exacerbate Mickelson's shortcomings. Once upon a time, Woods was portrayed as a highly disciplined athlete immune to bad decisions. Mickelson was equally talented but prone to whimsical play, a gambler easily seduced by reckless decisions.

Woods was hailed for his steely focus and workout regimen, while Mickelson's paunch was easily explained by a general lack of commitment and desire.

Woods was great in the clutch, while Mickelson often imploded at the first sign of trouble. And while Mickelson was clearly the people's choice, signing autographs and mingling with fans, Woods did most of the winning.

Complicating matters, Mickelson kept insisting the two rivals were actually friends, even when Woods' caddie insisted otherwise. This, among other reasons, led many in the industry to declare Mickelson a bit of a phony.

All of that has changed. Woods is the one branded by bad judgment and reckless behavior. Woods is considered the phony and the fraud, selling a family-man myth to corporate America. And to complete the stunning reversal, Woods' shortcomings are now exacerbated by Mickelson's strengths.

For instance, consider Mickelson's acts of impromptu charity, which are legendary on tour. He has been known to spend $100 for roadside lemonade, leaving the change as a tip. And when former NFL star Conrad Dobler fell on hard times, Mickelson put two of Dobler's children through college.

"I have no idea why he was so nice to me and my family, but he's our guardian angel," Dobler said during the Super Bowl.

Meanwhile, no one dares to question Mickelson's priorities. In 2009, he suspended his season when his wife was diagnosed with breast cancer (his mother was diagnosed six weeks later). And just when the 2010 season was getting under way, Mickelson embarked on a family vacation, bailing on the match play event near Tucson.

"It was really the only time we could go on a family trip, so we did," Mickelson said. "We had a great time."

Mickelson, who shot a 3-under 68 on Thursday - tied for 29th - will never win as many tournaments as Woods will. His career may never reach the heights predicted for Lefty when he won his first PGA tour event in 1991, as an amateur from Arizona State. And yet none of that seems to matter now, a time when the world's best player has been recast as a villain, a time when Mickelson's soft side is suddenly a source of celebration.

Tiger Woods has hired Ari Fleischer to manage his PR. Hopefully this doesn't result in Tiger lying his way into invading the pants of more skanks.

Reuters.com wrote:
(Reuters) - The ambulance crew that took golfer Tiger Woods from the scene of his fateful car crash last year did not let his wife ride with him because they said the incident was a case of domestic violence, according to Florida police records cited by a local newspaper on Friday.

The new information from Florida Highway Patrol records, quoted by the Orlando Sentinel, once again raised the possibility of domestic violence on November 27 between Woods and his wife Elin Nordegren, although Woods has repeatedly denied this.

That won't be a distraction at all. Rolling Eyes The Masters/Augusta has very strict crowd control. Cough at the wrong time and you'll be out on your ass. Tiger's team knows this, of course, and figures he can come back there and won't get heckled much, if at all. Kind of chicken shit, IMO. Why not come back a week earlier and get it out of the way? Will he just play the Masters and then go back into hiding?

This is getting the reaction that Nike wants it to. A BIG one. It's working wonderfully. Yes, he's catching heat, but if he keeps his nose clean from here on and goes back to playing the game of golf like only he can do, this tarnished image of Tiger will fade. Nike and Tiger know exactly what they're doing here.

I might have dreamed this but the other night some middle of the night sportstalk host thru out a question.

Will Tiger Woods become Mike Tyson?

My buddy and I debated the ? on the golf course the other day. I say Tiger has 4 more majors to get to Jack and with all the new talent showing up on tour its going to be tough for him to get.

And look what happened today. Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

@JasonSobel:
Tiger with 3-wood on No. 7 off the tee and...

Whoa! What was that?

Woods just took a 6-inch divot -- with a 3-wood.

Yikes.

That would be a 190-yard 3-wood off the tee.

Repeat: 190 yards.

Nice shot, Shankopotomous.

He barely made the fairway, will have 242 to the green.

And yes, this is a par-4.

At least he passed the womens tees. Laughing
