What did Brandon Allen show you?

"Enough to be intrigued but not enough to lock it down. He obviously dominated Triple-A and showed that he has power here and can play defense. At this point in his career, there’s some holes that he’s going to need to close up. He’ll play in the fall league. Again, with as much roster flexibility as we have, if it is Conor Jackson or Rusty Ryal or others to account for first base, he’ll be in the mix to compete, but he’ll certainly have to earn his job and earn his playing time."

- Josh Byrnes this afternoon

as he should, but i would have to say, i will be Shocked if he does not open in april as the starting 1b.... josh gave up a pen guy that was under contract for afew years for this guy.... he will play

Or get flipped for a pen guy under contract for a few years...

if that pen guy can also play first and hit bombs, im all for it

Hope someone in the organization is aware of this, and that BA gets the proper coaching instruction...

Steve Carter is a former college ball player who currently works as a Senior Scout for Project Prospect and a hitting coach at a local batting facility. His Austin Jackson analysis was recently supported by the Yankees' Triple-A hitting coach in national print. Steve knows his stuff. He's as good of a hitting mechanics analyst as you'll find online.

Allen looks like he got quite a bit fatter in the offseason. He followed the Andruw Jones workout plan.

He may be a veggie, but he still looks like a bell pepper.

Those red things they sell at grocery stores are not tomatoes. They may look like them but they aren't. You get real tomatoes at the farmers market (or Whole Foods).

Speaking of tomatoes, major shortages from the deep freeze in Florida... wholesale prices are up 5x over last year.
