I'd be asking him to hit 2 home runs each game

I thought this was worth copying in, from Mr. Hall's website chat earlier today:

Quote:
bdg123: Is Brandon Allen a September callup, and will he get a number of starts?

Hall: Definitely a September callup, could even arrive before that. He will need to get ample playing time and at-bats while here. He is tearing up Triple-A pitching right now.

Maybe Allen is next on the call-up list pending a DD trade or waiver salary shedding?

Also I need verification that it wasn't Brandon himself asking that question Laughing

His middle name is Durell... so two out of the three initials in bdg123 follow the pattern... Razz

Tripled, walked, scored twice, and drove in two tonight.

Tripled, you say? At 6'2" 235lb, that's some hustle! Laughing

We don't want base cloggers around here, do we?

Flipper gave him a hustle lecture before the game. Gotta get some real major league influence on our first baseman of the future!

If Allen starts popping up on a regular basis, someone needs to dress up Flipper as Alyssa Milano and send him into the Dodgers clubhouse.
If you can't use him as an asset, use him as a piece of ass.

counting down the days til Sept1 and seeing what Allen can do for the big club... at this point, I don't see any reason not to play him 5+ days a week and see what we got.

Looks like pitchers are already starting to pitch around him. In Brandon Allen's first two PA's tonight he's been walked twice.

After his promotion today, I think we can all agree on one thing.

Hopefully this will be the last post ever needed in the Brandon Allen in Reno thread.

Good Luck B.A. (like Mr. T Laughing )

Brandon Allen is hitting .321/.468/617 with five doubles, two triples, five home runs, and a 25:21 BB:K ratio in June. On the year he's hitting 259/411/488 with 10 doubles, two triples, eight home runs and a 41:43 K:BB ratio in a year that has been shortened by injury. He missed most of april and may with a shoulder injury.

Allen is hitting .259 with 8 HR and 33 RBI on grass. How much longer will he be allowed to use medical marijuana? Smile
