Why? So he can get traded to the Padres for a scrub reliever with a broken hand?

Hey there TAP. Don't get so optimistic. When that trade was announced, the scrub reliever was fully in tact. It was only hours later that he shot his own value through the ceiling by adding what some would call a "finishing touch" Very Happy

Are you sure about that timing?

It was either the night the trade was announced or the night before. The timing was very recent, relative to when the trade was announced... I think...

EDIT: Upon examination, I'm a month and a half off. Good thing I'm not a weather man... although the adjusted times of the events that took place do make for a better story... Very Happy

The San Diego Padres acquired outfielder Scott Hairston from the Arizona Diamondbacks for minor league pitcher Leo Rosales on Friday.

The 26-year-old Rosales was 1-1 with 14 saves and a 3.28 ERA at Triple-A Portland before going on the disabled list June 7 because of a broken right hand.

Strange numbers--in the International League, 0 walks and 13 k's; in the PCL, 7 walks and 5 k's.

SLG at an even 1.000. OBP at .489. (You math experts can figure that the OPS is pretty good)

Quote:
Brandon Allen connected on two mammoth home runs Wednesday night, carrying the Reno Aces to a 7-5 victory over the Portland Beavers at Aces Ballpark.

Allen hit a solo shot to lead-off the second inning, which brought Reno to within a run at 2-1. In the fifth, Allen launched a three-run bomb that broke open a 4-4 deadlock and lifted the Aces to their second-straight win.

Too bad the Miggy at 3b idea never took off. An infield of Allen (1b), Reynolds (2b), Drew, Montero, and Snyder behind the plate would be pretty sweet.

Don't count your chickens before they hatch. We still don't have a plan for 2b next year... ; )
