Brett Favre's agent Bus Cook reaffirmed Wednesday that the veteran quarterback has no plans to end his retirement now that the New York Jets have released him.

"He's retired, he doesn't have any desire to come back, and that's the way it is with Brett," Cook said. "He's mowing his grass. He's working on his farm. He enjoys that stuff."

Cook said he originally asked the Jets to release Favre after the season as just "the order of business. Brett wants to retire as a Packer and that's just part of it."

Favre could not be reached for comment. As Cook cracked, "He can't hear that phone on his tractor, anyway."

Oh yeah him to Laughing Says something that my first thoughts are of a hockey player and a baseball player over Jordan lol.

Mario Lemieux had the most success coming back from retirement, IMO. I would say Clemens, but Im pretty sure he had a little help...

Childress to Discuss Vikings Adding Favre

The Minnesota Vikings haven't discussed the possibility of pursuing veteran quarterback Brett Favre. Yet. Speaking on the first day of his team's rookie minicamp, coach Brad Childress said there hasn't been time to discuss the New York Jets' decision to release Favre. The move made Favre a free agent, raising speculation he was considering a return to the game despite releasing a statement in which he said his plans were to remain retired "at this time." "We talk about everything," Childress said. "So yeah, I'm sure we'll talk about that."

Werder, citing a source with "direct knowledge of discussions," says Favre and Childress will meet at an undisclosed location. Favre will decide whether to come out of retirement shortly thereafter. The Vikings are expected to ask Favre to participate in all pre-training camp workouts, which he typically doesn't like to do. Childress also figures to ask about Favre's torn biceps, which sapped his arm strength and accuracy last season. May. 5 - 5:32 pm et

I'm sure Oden cannot wait to purchase a purple #4 jersey...

You have got to be kidding, Favre....

I'm not implying I'm shocked. I just find it sad. The guy can't play anymore. When he "retired" in January, he listed the torn biceps tendon in his right arm as the reason. Jets physicians advised surgery if Favre intended to play in 2009 and Favre declined. I find it sad when the elite ones of a sport hang on and have to be shown the door, rather than exiting gracefully. The Vikings should look the other way.

Apparently Favre remembered that he's 40 years old and has a Luis Gonzalez arm...good move to stay retired.

That statement insinuates that Farve did steroids.
