Well, I decided to chronicle RJs effort to get to 300. FIgured this needed a thread of its own, rather than just my sig.

His first start of the year is tonight against Milwaukee's Gallardo. Game starts at 7:15, Ill be following it on Gameday.

I've loved the man since I started following baseball...
Which was in late August/early September of 1995...
As the M's were catching the California Angels from behind...
Not that there's anything wrong with that...

He looked better in the first than he did a year earlier when he made a Friday night start there in April.

Molina hit a tailor made GB DP to end the first(had 1st and 3rd).

The unis are different. The karma is the same.

Randy just hung a 2-2 slider to Cameron who was 2-29 lifetime. It hit the seats in LCF.

Thru 2 innings, Randy has given up a solo hr to Mike Cameron. 4 Ks

It is currently 53* with 10 mph winds in SF...

Randy got a 1-2 2 out fastball up to Gallardo and it landed in the tunnel inside the LF foul pole for a 3-R HR.

To the pitcher Randy! The PITCHER!

Randy is done for the night. Pulled for PH Nate Schierholtz.

He didn't pitch bad, until that last gopher ball.

The joke is, they IWed the 8 hitter to get to Gallardo.

Bochy is a bigger idiot than Melvin.

The water in the Bay is cold. Probably 56-58 degrees. The wind comes off that water and it will chill fans wearing heavy jackets in the middle of summer.

Having started his career in Montreal and spending all those years in Seattle, I'm sure Randy has no problem with the weather. He looked relaxed and comfortable on the mound tonight.

It was just one of those typical older Randy starts where he makes a few mistakes at inopportune times. I've seen him sharper with his fastball and slider in recent years. For the most part he was keeping the ball down. He was ahead in the count on most batters faced tonight. He pitched better than his final line reads tonight, but it is what it is.

Only thing is, he wasnt 43 when he was in Montreal and Seattle.....

Well, he's 45 now. LOL

But seriously, his back didn't appear to be an issue tonight. Usually, when his back is bothering him, you'll see him stretch it out between pitches from time to time. He looked pretty comfortable tonight. Randy looked real calm on the mound tonight. Focused.

The ocean temperature in Seattle is colder than SF Bay. Its the same water carried down the coast by the Canadian Current. Its just a few degrees warmer by the time it reaches SF.

Randy's pitched in the park many times as a D-Back. He looked right at home on the mound tonight. Giants fans love the guy already.
