Slaten optioned down; Vasquez up.

Barnette, Blackley, Buckner, Coutlangus, Ellis, Etherton, Gordon, Marte, Rosales, Slaten, Valdez, Woody are currently in Reno: 12 pitchers.

Gordon should go up soon, Vasquez or Wilson will go down.

Someone from Mobile may be getting called up...?

I advocated either Augenstein or Ambriz in the "King for a Day" thread. Smile

Oh, and Korecky was sent down. Makes sense to keep both Vasquez and Wilson up, I think.

Jarrod Parker has been promoted to Mobile, Catcher John Hester has been resassigned to Mobile (according to the Mobile website, he is now for whatever reason on the Mobile roster), Pitcher Billy Spottiswood has been reassigned back to Visalia. Spottiswood was called up to Reno for just one evening, and then sent directly back to Visalia. Tom Gordon will be called up the big club soon, so I'm assuming some one from Mobile is getting called-up, or Vasquez or Guiterrez are headed back down. Lots of odd transactions the last few days throughout the organization.

hector Ambriz will make his last AA start Friday against Jacksonville and then will go up to Reno. Parker will go to Mobile and pitch against Jacksonville on Saturday in his Mobile BayBears debut.

Believe that the "Hester" listing is an error. No indications he is coming down to Mobile (and he is handling AAA just fine)

From Nick's Blog:
LHP Travis Blackley continues to get abused by PCL hitting, giving up five runs in three innings. He is 0-3 with a 8.62 ERA in four starts and has allowed four runs or more three times.
Meanwhile, 1B Josh Whitesell was up to his old tricks, going 4 for 5 with two RBIs to up his average to .364.
OF Brandon Watson had two more hits and is hitting .344.

Per Nick today:

Triple-A Reno: RHP Cesar Valdez, making his first start in 10 days, surrendered five runs in 4 2/3 innings. Three of the runs scored on an Eric Munson three-run home run in the third inning. The club held Valdez back so he could throw multiple side sessions, farm director A.J. Hinch said, allowing him to work on his tempo and rhythm. Hinch said Valdez pitched much better in this start and that the home run made the outing look worse than it was.

Also: RHP Hector Ambriz, who was promoted from Double-A Mobile over the weekend, will move into the starting rotation for Triple-A Reno. LHP Travis Blackley will head to the bullpen.

Josh Whitesell was recalled this a.m. by Dbacks. Promoted to Reno from Mobile was INF Bryan Byrne.

Everyone wins in this one! Very Happy

Hopefully this is the first of many moves that need to be made to help right the ship at the major league level. This also helps unclog the farm system so that more players can develope.

Drew went 1-5 with an RBI triple and strikeout in an extra innings loss to Fresno on Sunday.

Drew was 2-4 tonight with an error. Etherton battled with Garland/Korecky for worst outing for a pitcher tonight. Judging just by the line I say he won.

IIRC, Drew will not play for Reno today, and will be with the team today, and activated tomorrow?

Classic picture. I wonder if that's a frat hazing at the Campbell and Speedway intersection...

And this is coming from the man who was confident he didn't need a rehab tune-up before rejoining the major league club...

He meant he could collect his paycheck without needing any rehab time.

The Dbacks should just cut him. What's the point?
He's about as superfluous as a broken condom
