I just posted this in the all MLB forum. muh bad.

this stinks

Bob Nightengale has the Bucs getting Craig Hansen and Brandon Moss from the Red Sox and Andy LaRoche and Bryan Morris from the Dodgers, correcting what looks like a typo in the Rosenthal report.

I think it's more like a push, if you believed the Dbacks to be the favorites before.

I would have liked to see LA give up more for him, but it doesn't really make a big difference in my book.

Wow, good haul for the Pirates.

Smart trade by Boston in the long-term. Ramirez is on the decline.

The Dodgers did nothing in this trade to get rid of the glut in the outfield. I guess it will be Ramirez/Kemp/Ethier with Jones and Pierre riding the bench.

I think all the trades are causing Bref to crash.

So their OF consists of: Ethier, Kemp, Pierre, Manny, and Jones. Who sits now? Jones and Pierre?

Like Dre said, would have preferred LA give up more but you can see many-a-day that Torre goes with Manny at Left, Jones in center, and Pierre at right. What a defensive circus. Imagine Manny actually trying to rundown a ball that is not stopped by the monster.

Not so sure about that... The LA franchise has a lot of money...

Just ask Andruw and Juan! Laughing

It would have been nice to have seen the Doggers give up Kemp or Loney, or even Ethier. Oh, well.

If nothing else, this may help the Diamondbacks achieve a higher degree of purpose and urgency; to realize that the mantra of "Well, at least the Doggers lost" is less likely to have opportunities for use...

Adding Blake and Manny definitely makes their offense a good offense. It makes them the favorite for the West, IMO. Yeah, defense will suck, but offensive upgrades will outweigh that. Andruw Jones isn't going to play. Pierre will be 4th outfielder, defensive replacement.

Justin Upton coming back off the DL and hitting like gangbusters is going to be vital to the Dbacks' chances at winning the NL West now.

Dodgers didn't have to pay a whole lot.
They got Manny to agree to decline arbitration and get rid of options.
It definitely makes them a good offensive team.

It's just how are they going to use all their outifelders.
We'll see how it plays out.
