I'm sure all the puckheads in Canada would be drooling if another team moved north of the border, but I'm sure the players on the roster won't be too happy.

Yes, under similar circumstances. Shane Doan has played for the franchise in both stops. I kind of hope he does what Tomas Steen did (said if the franchise moves, Im retiring rather than playing in another city)

The Jets last season in Winnipeg, they lost to the Red Wings in 6 games in the first round. The Red Wings got to the conference finals that year, to lose to the Avalanche, a team that was in its first season in its present location. The Colorado Avalanche won the Cup.

Well, these Ice Edge guys seem to be a hockey-first type group. A "Mark Cuban" type which would seem to value what happens on the ice more than the bottom line on their budget. Unlike Reinsdorf, who would try to make the team profitable, sap tax money from Glendale residents (again), and then sell them to somebody who would move them to Canada.

They are about to do it again! When was the last time 3 out of the final 4 teams were original 6? the last time an original 6 team won the Cup was in 94 when the rangers won.

Edit- to clarify, other than Detroit...

4-2 now in the 2nd intermission and Pittsburgh gets a powerplay for the first 90 seconds or so of the 3rd...

Can you not say anything else, please misterx Laughing

1-0 Philadelphia after 1 in the other action tonight. Philadelphia could force a game 7, in Boston but I really hope they dont.

A Bruins and Habs series would be great for the NHL. That rivalry is something else. Cmon Bru's win one!

It would also be coming back from the impossibly improbably to overcome 3-0 series deficit. Which in the NHL has happened maybe 3 times ever?

The 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs and the 1975 New York Islanders are the only NHL teams to come back from 3-0 deficits to win a best-of-seven playoff series. The Flyers are the first team to trail 3-0 and force a Game 7 since the 75 Islanders.

1975 was also the last time the flyers won the cup

The City of Glendale, Ariz., has authorized its city manager to cut a deal worth up to US$25 million with the NHL to cover losses and keep the Phoenix Coyotes playing in the city's Jobing.com Arena next season, but a sandstorm is immediately on the horizon.

The Goldwater Institute, a conservative taxpayer watchdog group, is ready to get into court in the next few days to mix it up with the city.

Goldwater attorney Carrie Ann Sitren told the Free Press in an email late Wednesday night that could happen as early as Friday.

If we lose our team because of Goldwater that place will be burnt to the ground.
