Out of all the other teams outside the west in the NL only the FLA Marlins have a losing record vs NL West teams.

Its like triple AAA baseball at its best or worst.

It's nice we can beat these teams in our shitty division but come on SF, SD and Col are not major league ballclubs.

kind of funny since we were the best division in baseball last year and most expected more of the same this year

The Giants come to town on May 27-29, and then we don't face another NL west opponent until the 4th of July, when the Padres bring their remnants to Chase.

So if we're going to be staying in first, we'll have to do it the hard way, vs. other teams

It's early...a lot of baseball left to play. LA is going to be around all year and I still think San Diego will make a run at some point. Not as confident in Colorado because they don't have the pitching. SF has been a surprise, to me...I thought they were headed to 100+ losses.

That could lead to some major chest puffing.

Who would have thought after last season the West would be this bad? It's mind boggling.

I don't understand how these teams got so bad so fast. Rockies made it all the way to the World Series last year, The Padres have a solid rotation, the Giants are truly weak, and the Dodgers are a good team. Good thing they are sucking it up so far.

Over the last 10 games, AZ went 3-7

Yet the Dbacks stayed ahead of LA, which also went 3-7
Padres and Giants went "only" 4-6 and gained only a game on AZ
The Rockies actually lost a game by going 2-8

It's good for AZ that May has been brutal for everyone in the NL west

Tuesday's matchup between San Diego's Greg Maddux (350 wins) and Dodger rookie Clayton Kershaw (zero) was the largest gap in career wins between two starting pitchers since Aug. 25, 1965, when San Francisco's Warren Spahn (361 wins) faced the Mets' Darrell Sutherland (one).

That about sums up the division. When the winning team goes 3-7 and manages to pretty much maintain the lead completely.

Only one team in the NL West with a winning record and only one team in the NL West with a positive run differential:

AZ 39-36 (+13)
LA 34-40 (-2)
SF 32-43 (-45)
CO 32-43 (-56)
SD 32-44 (-65)

Who would've thought it'd be the end of June and TWO teams would be worse than SF?

Who would've thought it'd be the end of June and THE WHOLE DIVISION (and the Mets, Tigers, Braves, Indians, and Mariners, for that matter) would be worse than TEX?

Ok, we're tied with Texas, but they've scored something like 80 more runs than us. In my book, that gives them top honors.

Gotta love this division.

Dodgers lost...Giants down 3-0 to Cleveland.

If we're this upset, imagine how LA fans must feel. This is like running a marathon; the dbacks were leading and tripped and fell, giving the second place dodgers a wide open shot at first, except they trip and fall at the exact same time...

Pretty good analogy. We're in a pit stop and can't get the car to start...and the Dodgers can't find their front passenger tire...the Rockies lost a battery...and it just goes on and on.

Unbelievable

The D Backs have the largest lead of any division leader again.
