3-2 now. Uruguay just wont die. I have been rooting for them - as the underdog. Its going to be too little too late though...

Netherlands vs Spain/Germany winner should be something else!

Good job Uruguay, what a valiant effort in the dying minutes.

There will be a European Champion outside of the continent for the first time ever.

Do the S. African fans root for the Dutch in the final? Will this be like a home game for them?

I want Germany to come out on top tomorrow.

Exciting ending, too bad for Uruguay they played a terrific World Cup. Another all European final awaits.

Was it just me or did it seem like the announcers were kind of biased towards Uruguay during the game?

Maybe a little. I think these guys like to see the underdog. I think the announcers also like to see the flashy display of skill - something that Forlan and Suarez are more likely to show than the more workman like Dutch.

Our company's Nethlands rep has NOT been online all day. NO surprise that ... would be shocked if he's NOT watching in a bar (he's not into the coffeehouse scene) Laughing

There was a literal sea of orange at Soccer City for the opening game I saw against Denmark, so expect more of the same for the final in the same venue. Large number of Afrikaners will give some "home" advantage as far as fan rooting is concerned.

* Rooting for Spain. After Brazil, I like their style of play best.

The Dutch are such pussies, especially Robben. The fall on the ground and roll in absolute agony the moment someone gets within 10 feet of them. Ruud Gullit's story today about the woman and Robben was awesome... it went something like "A woman was watching the Dutch play and touched the TV... and Robben collapsed on the field"... Laughing

You could say that about most soccer teams.

Well, yes and no. Very few teams do it as outrageously as the Dutch.

Are you from Brazil or something? Wink

Seriously, this is shaping-up to be a great final. If Germany does their precision act (without Müller) on Spain tomorrow, I'll be very worried. If they somehow fall... this could be Netherlands' time.

Spain draws first blood. About 10 minutes left now.

Spain just had a 2 on 1 breakaway and the player with possession did not pass to the other guy.

FORTUNATELY... Spain wins. Guaranteed now that World Cup will now be won by a country that has never before won.

3rd place games have always been irrelevant, low intensity affairs.
