FIFA needs to adopt instant replay at least for World Cup along the lines of the NHL (to check on goals). With the correct call, England would now be tied 2 - 2 with Germany at the half.

I am loving this. Thank god all the moronic media hype can go away for another 2 years. I just can't care about international football. I enjoy watching it, I just don't have any feeling towards England at all. I think many people who strongly follow club sides feel the same. Seeing Lampard and Terry in tears is a sight to behold Very Happy

Funny that I bought a Germany shirt before the tournament. I think I'll be winding people up with that for a few days Laughing

It might have played a big difference in the game too - as england was really pressing people forward and left themselves vulnerable to counter attack.

Staying home to watch Brazil-Netherlands before heading to work. Expect this to be much more exciting than dwelling on Dbacks latest front office fiasco.

Ghana missed a great chance in the 122nd minute. Uruguay win in PKs. Always seems like a hokey way to decide a match where both sides leave it all on the field for 120+ minutes.

Spain-Paraguay

Good game. I am not really a fan of soccer, but I can appreciate this. 2 saves on penalty shots in 5 minutes and the announcers were saying that hasnt happened in the same game since 1930.

0-0 nearing the end of the 2nd half. I think this will go to overtime (or whatever it's called in soccer)

Spain just scored at about 87 minutes. The goal had a defenite hockey feel to it. A couple of passes a shot off the post and 7 banged the rebound in. paraguay's defense man basically stood there and watched the ball go in. Do SOMETHING. I know handballs are bad in soccer, but don't be retarded.

Netherlands has been consistently good all through the World Cup, so would be a good time to jump on their bandwagon (esp. since they are leading early against Uruguay in semis)... If they are going to ever win their first WC, this would be a good venue with so many Dutch descendants living in S.
Africa.

You could try Sports Authority to see if you can get the orange jersey locally.

The goal wasnt his best (more of a goalie wrongfooting himself), but the whole country of Netherlands has to know to not let Forlan score - and he does it anyway.

Why is the country sometimes called Netherlands and Holland/Dutch? Any specific reason like maybe Holland is just the English version (que Espana o Alemania es Espanol por Germany y Spain)?

ESPN Stats and Info: The Van Bronckhorst strike in the 18th minute covered some 42 yards at an average speed of 58 mph and found the far post just 1.5 seconds after leaving the Dutchman's left foot.

Incredible. That shot was unsaveable. It tucked inside both the cross bar and the post, right in the corner.
