That was as good a 2-game series as you'll see. Arkansas gave ASU everything they had. Great baseball. Now it's off to Omaha where 1A (Texas) will not be playing. Go Devils!

Looks like ASU can put away those "Which Pac-10 team has never gone to the Rose Bowl?" signs... There's 3 teams that haven't gone now. Laughing

Annoyed. They haven't really played very well throughout the postseason, but until now, they have been able to pull out the victories. Unless they heat up real fast, they are going home early again. It is going to be a tough road to win four in a row to get out of bracket play.

They are still in Omaha. Which (im fairly certain) means you are one of the last 8 teams left in the country. Baseball is tough to win games in smal sample sizes. IMO - if you got to Omaha - you did fine.

True, but this is their 11th trip to Omaha since the last of their five national titles in 1981. They haven't had much luck in Omaha the last thirty or so years.

I'm glad Stoops held to the rules. I was expecting a 6-game suspension because Dean is a senior, but obviously Stoops told the senior he'd still be suspended for the year. It's unfortunate for the team and the player right now, but it's best in the long-run. No guns, no exceptions. If he's going somewhere he feels he needs a firearm, don't go. Go lift weights or study instead.

Ceremony planned for USC game: Arizona to retire jerseys of seven former players wrote:
Linebacker Ricky Hunley, safety Chuck Cecil, cornerbacks Antoine Cason, Darryll Lewis and Chris McAlister, defensive tackle Rob Waldrop and placekicker Steve McLaughlin will have their jerseys displayed in a yet-to-be-disclosed location inside the stadium. The seven join legendary cornerback Art Luppino, whose jersey was retired years ago...

The UA athletic department allows jersey honors for those players who were national players of the year or inducted into the National Football Foundation College Hall of Fame. All seven newcomers meet those standards.

Aside from Cason's atrocious 1-3 record vs ASU, the others were a combined 14-7-2 in the Territorial Cup.

New lighting will generate better views wrote:
Work crews are installing a $975,000 lighting system that will burn brighter, save energy and limit ambient light in nearby neighborhoods during night games...

Crews will finish a $2.2 million renovation of the Jimenez Practice Facility later this month. Workers spent Thursday painting video towers and installing new kicking nets.

Lights and the practice field are nice, but just complete the North End Zone Project, please...

When are they going to mess with my season tickets in the South Endzone?

I don't think there will be any major disruptions to that seating area. However, I could foresee some minor alterations because they're moving the scoreboard to that end zone, stretching across the entire southern end zone stands. You may want to consider switching to the north end zone if you wanna look at the scoreboard, otherwise it's going to be right above you. Not sure how much the north end zone project will disrupt views of the majestic Catalina Mountains from the south end zone. May be worse than the level of obstruction that the current scoreboard creates.

When PAC-10 QBs went to Times Square for a photo op, they were greeted with an Arizona fan holding a "Foles for Heisman" T-Shirt

The self-imposed penalties are plenty. When are all the games that ASU baseball played under Pat Murphy going to be vacated? Wink
