Ok guys....I need some help here.....I need to find a keeper.

I have an open keeper spot on my minor league roster. It has to be someone who has no prior major league experience. If I pick him up as a free agent now, I can keep through 2010 if I want.

Although it is preferable to find someone who might play in 2008, it doesn't absolutely have to be.

The list below are guys that are currently on someone minor league roster in our league.

So BESIDES this list of guys.....who are your top one or two minor league prospects that you would pick up?

Remember, no prior Major League experience allowed

Max Scherzer
Evan Longoria
Neil Walker
Jeff Samardzjia
Waldimir Balentien
Fernando Martinez
Jay Bruce
Clayton Kershaw
Adam Miller
Colby Rasmus
Eric Cambell
Jeff Nieman
David Price
Chuck Lofgren
Nick Adenhardt
Jacob McGee

Well, he is a consideration of course, but preferably it would be someone who is not blocked until 2011 Evil or Very Mad

NL guys (I don't know the AL), position players only, ranked by likeliness to play full time in 2008

Joey Votto, CIN
Brandon Jones, ATL
Eric Patterson, CHN
Brent Lillibridge, ATL
Matt LaPorta, MIL

Good list...(except Patterson isn't available thanks to 8 at bats in August.)

Votto might get a few at bats soon as well, once he gets called up

Johnny Cueto, Travis Snider, or maybe Porcello. Will Inman although he isn't much potential I guess.

votto just homered in his first MLB start

http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/boxscore?gid=270905117

he won't be eligible as a minor league keeper (i'd gamble on laporta, by the way, as i think he has the highest fantasy potential of this group) but i think votto would be an excellent keeper for next year. he's got 25 homer, 20 stolen bases potential next year, and that's excellent fantasy value from a first baseman

You might take a look at Geovany Soto a catcher in the Cubs organization.
If he's still eligible.

He got picked up...and ayway, he has MLB playing time.

I ended up picking up Jacob McGee. a Lefty with a great K rate in the Devil Rays system
