Who says writers can't join the front offices of major league teams?

Former Tribune writer Joseph Reaves will join the front office staff of the Los Angeles Dodgers, multiple sources confirmed.

Reaves, who covered the Cubs and also served as a foreign correspondent for the Tribune, will report to Dodgers general manager and Franklin Park native Ned Colletti in an administrative capacity.

Reaves served for the past 2 1/2 years as the national baseball writer for the Arizona Republic.

Dodgers add Reaves to front-office staff
Veteran sportswriter Joe Reaves, who has worked in recent years for the Arizona Republic, has been hired by the Dodgers to lend his international baseball expertise to the front office. Reaves will continue to live in the Phoenix area. His new position will not include work specifically in scouting or player development, but will be more administrative in nature. His official job title has yet to be determined.

I think the new job title may be "Crony"

Surprised it wasn't the Cubs. He's kissed their asses often enough over the past few years.

Oh, well: dancing in the streets of Phoenix, scheduled for 9pm.

BTW, it IS notable that Reaves was the NATIONAL baseball writer, as opposed to Nick, who is the BEAT writer. So of course Reaves always had more of a league wide slant. But his Cubbie leanings were always evident.

Now he is a member of the hated Dodgers.

Slam Away fellas!!!! LOL

Pardon me.

But.

Fuck.

Yes.

The Republic wins by subtraction. Now we just need the Doggers to sign Kim next year.

Laughing

If Barry Bonds can stand having Pedro Gomez following him 24/7, he can stand most anything.
