I really like that John Ely kid, I wouldn't mind seeing him in a dbacks uniform some day.

Dodgers suffer lesson in humility

Quote:
LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Dodgers learned first-hand Sunday night why the New York Yankees are who they are, why they have accomplished what they have and why -- no matter how big a lead you might have on them and no matter how late in the game it might be -- the one thing you can never, ever do against them is feel secure.

Learned it the hard way, in fact.

The Dodgers suffered far more than an 8-6, 10-inning loss to the Yankees in front of a sellout crowd of 56,000 at Dodger Stadium. Along with it, they suffered a nationally televised lesson in humility which convincingly drove home the point that no matter how hard the Dodgers' marketing department tried to manufacture a rivalry between them and the Yankees, these two teams not only play in separate leagues, they play in different worlds.

The Dodgers had the Yankees right where they wanted them, or so they thought...

Dodgers talking trade with several teams

Quote:
LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers have had conversations with expected teams as the Trade Deadline approaches, including the Mariners, Astros, Blue Jays, Indians and D-backs, a baseball source said.
Those teams fit in with the Dodgers' pursuit of pitching, with Seattle's Cliff Lee, Houston's Roy Oswalt and Arizona's Dan Haren some of the top names on the trade market.

Who would LA have to make that trade work. Well - LA wouldnt want to add too much salary - so you have to be looking at Kemp - no? Kemp, Elbert and Mcdonald? Something like that? What else could they even offer? Maybe ELY? Still - that doesn't help them with salary. I don't see how these teams match up.
