If he gives up less walks, he's going to be scary good. Like, Cy Young winner good.

Here's to hoping McCourt loses a lot of money right when Kershaw's going into arb and is forced to sell him off for a middle reliever. Very Happy

The Boston Globe is reporting that the Mariners, Twins, and Dodgers have been linked to Martinez, but added that Martinez still "harbors bad feelings" for the Dodgers.

Come to Phx Pedro where you can stick it to Dodger Blue. Wink

Why not? We can then say that Randy Johnson, Curt Schilling, and Pedro Martinez were all Diamondbacks at one point or another.

I'd still like to lure Randy out of retirement and have him retire as a D'Back.

Who I was referring to Upton? I'm talking about Chris Young.

Seriously though, no, just a tad bit disappointed with his current production.

JU will recover just fine. He started slowly last year and we heard the same minor league suggestions then too. Seems 2009 didn't turn out too badly for him.

Quote:
The only clarification Colletti made was in regards to his comments criticizing Matt Kemp's baserunning and defense, while at least suggesting Kemp might be affected by his two-year, $10.95 million contract.

"I didn't single Matt Kemp out," he said. "I responded to a question about Matt Kemp from Peter [Tilden, morning show host]."

Nonetheless, Colletti is unhappy with Kemp's play.

"I don't see the same player I saw last year," Colletti said. "Maybe it's early, maybe that's what it is. It's not just Matt. I haven't seen it across the board, with rare exception. I don't want to make this [only about] Matt Kemp.

"The Dodgers are 8-12. We have more errors than anybody in the league, maybe in baseball. We're last in fielding in the league. This team a year ago was in the top three in hitting, pitching, defense. We're in the top half hitting, the lower half pitching and the bottom defensively. If they had a category for execution, we'd be in the bottom half of that, too.

Wow... Calling out their best player??? Shocked

Since April 16th when Manny went on the DL, the dognuts have a line of:

.185/.261/.282/.543 (BA/OBP/SLG/OPS)
1.9 Runs per game
1-6 w/l record

The future of the Dodgers.

The Dodgers spend the least of any major league club in the last two drafts.

Shocked

The divorce case continues.

The wife gets $225,000 a month but the judge will rule on the Dodgers ownership issue in a few months. Here is the funny part.

Frank McCourt said the value of the team is $163 million due to the downturn in the economy.

Bahahahahaha baseball owners are the biggest bunch on liars when it comes to their money. If the Dodgers are worth just $163 million then the world is coming to an end soon.

Jamie McCourt estimates the team is worth more than $830 million.

The wife is much closer on her guess than the husband.

Buds going to hate all the stuff that comes out when this thing goes to trial. He is about to issue a "Best interest of baseball" deal with the sale of the Rangers soon. He might have to do some wheeling and dealing here too.

Forbes estimates the Dodgers Franchise value at 727 Million, with a debt to value ratio of 58%, meaning they owe about 400 Million, give or take. Obviously if you buy the franchise, you buy the debt, so the true value is somewhere around 300-350 million.

So if the judge forces the couple to sell the team and split the profits do you think the number they would split would be closer to what the husband says the value of the team is or what the wife says the value of the team is? Wink

Even with a nasty divorce going on the team might be looking to spend more money.

Dodgers interest in both Lee and Oswalt.

Padilla in trouble with the law
Quote:
According to Fox Sports' Tracy Ringolsby, the "Dodgers will have a 4 p.m. news conference on Saturday to discuss an incident" involving Vicente Padilla that took place at the team hotel on Saturday morning. Ringolsby states that the "police were called."

Our View
Ominous, and unsurprising considering Padilla's troubled past. The 32-year-old starter is currently on the disabled list with a forearm injury.

To add:
Quote:
Vicente Padilla will not be charged with a crime after Denver police were called to his hotel room at 4:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, according to Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times.

Our View: Details on the incident are very murky, but the Dodgers have to be exhaling that he is avoiding any official trouble. That being said, this only further sullies what was already a very bad personal reputation for Padilla.
