Ha too funny. Ya that was me. I never saw your post.

Had a blast today. Sunnyside was very cool. Saw about 20 wild turkeys down there.

Lochiel was cool too. Went all along the border fence. Saw lots of border patrol. This was the first place a European Marcos De Niza was ever west of the rockies. They have a HUGE cross memorial marking the spot. Cool old church too.

Duquesne was spooky one building had a headless doll on it that said welcome. Shocked Lots of KEEP OUT signs and one old building I think was the minors quarters had one long hallway in it.

Saw some good mines too.

Hit Elviras which has now moved from Nogalas to Tubac wanted the deep fried shredded beef appetizer but it is no longer on the menu Evil or Very Mad

Had a nice cold Pacifico and a quesadilla before heading home.

The San Rafael Valley is some of the most beautiful country in Arizona if you ever get a chance make the drive down.

It has been 20 some years since I was there. I was disappointed in Lochiel (there is no Loch there you know). Duquesne and Sunnyside were cool then, but I have heard the locals discourage visitors now. You know this better than I. Do you have some contacts there? I'd be interesting in a report.

Most of the ghost towns in Az have been picked thru and vandalized and most are on private land so lots of keep out signs. I just bring the camera and take pics and have never had a problem.

No one living in Sunnyside or Duquesne but it looked like several houses in and around Lochiel had people living in them.

One was a house made what looked to be an old Army barracks or AF hanger.

Saw a few quail hunters out there today.

The stream along Sunnyside was running pretty good from the snow melt. Thats where we saw the wild turkeys.

We have friends who own a ranch outside Patagonia. Also my good friend Andy Hersey has a place down there. Roger Clynes dad Doc Cline has a place.

The old Westinghouse place is a cool place to visit. The Wagon Wheel bar and The Velvet Elvis Pizza joint along with the Steakout in Senoita are fun too.

JEEP is very muddy and will need a bath tomorrow though Laughing

TOP FIVE AZ GHOST TOWNS
1. Ruby
2. Vulture
3. Tip Top
4. Swansea
5. Sasco

New Mexico has some great ones that have not been picked thru.

TOP FIVE NM GHOST TOWNS
1. Elizabethtown
2. San Pedro
3. Kingston
4. Winston
5. Chloride

Still have a few on my list I need to go see. Right now is the Black Diamond Mine. I hear its a tough one to get too but Im ready to roll. Wink

Took Prosopis, his son, and my little buddy Josh to Sasco early this morning.

Had a blast and found the spooky cemetery.

Tore up the JEEP pretty good too. That bolt in the roll bar didnt just come out it broke off on the inside. Shocked

Got the bikini top fixed and had a new lock box put in.

The roll bar will get fixed back in phoenix.

Lots of cool pics I will see if I can get Justin to post them for me later.

Now the wife is taking me out to dinner and to the Casino for a little blackjack action.

Cant wait for the fall and winter when it cools down. We were done by 10am this morning and it was still HOT.

Im ready to go again. Maybe I can find something in the high country. Wink

Pics headed your way.

I like the first 5 the best. What were those big cement things you guys are standing on/in used for? I think where you parked the jeep adds to the graveyard. Like someone you can't see is visiting. If that makes sense, like a visitor from the beyond.

That is a smelter where the ore was melted down. I think that is what it is?

Did not go inside Bad Gas.

Gotta be careful in some of these old mines.

A JEEP Jamboree DBBP trip would be a blast.

Who else has 4x4's.

We did this with the old Peacemakers board and a group of us all went to Tip Top and had a blast.

The place Jillian talked about would be cool but a long ways away.

Tip Top or maybe the Sunflower mine would be closer if we go out of Phoenix.
