Heating up? He is on fire!

Time to move LaRoche and give Allen another shot and see if he's for real!

Heating up at the plate.

Watching him last night he looked really shaky at 1B. His defense was questionable, he got lucky 3-4 times or else he would have been the subject of at least 3 errors. He had a very hard time of keeping his foot on the bag when the ball was thrown to him (good throws too). He got lucky twice by tagging out the runner as his foot came off of the bag, but the first time wasn't so lucky; that runner came around to score. He also didn't field too well, more grounders wound up hitting his gut rather than going in his glove.

That's not fair at all. People have seen Allen enough to know that he can play 1B just fine. He's not LaRoche good, but he's not Reynolds awful either.

I say Allen will get his chance when LaRoche is traded...which I think will happen. This organization will be able to find their next 1B from a bunch of prospects...and BAllen gets 1st chance.

Spot on. BA is much more athletic than he appears at first glance. We all saw him make a handful of impressive plays up in the majors last year. I'm only concerned with how he handles the bat.

I bet he's infinitely better defensively at 1B than Rusty Ryal ever will be...

rusty would have a hard time winning that battle against a one arm man
