In the ripping off of baseball fans. Thats something I guess.

Took this from a story on ticket fees that team owners are getting from their fans.

TeamTicketPrice,Total Fees Markup, Percent Team, Rank by Percent
Angels $20.00 $30.75 38% 1
Mets $21.00 $31.50 38% 2
Dodgers $20.00 $26.85 34% 3
Red Sox $20.00 $26.50 33% 4
Yankees $22.00 $28.60 33% 5
Diamondbacks $25.00 $17.17 20% 30

Well, good news/bad news. Fewer Diamondback fans will be ripped off of their entertainment dollars in the near future.

I believe the Dbacks are last when compared to all teams of the 4 major sports.

Yes it is a spot where I want to finish last.

Ticketbastard and ticket fees are evil.

Gov used to control monopolies but not anymore. Competition is good for the consumer but its something we are seeing less and less of. Evil or Very Mad Crying or Very sad

Fees or no fees, Chase will be a ghost town now that the Yankees' series is over. How many people will pay ANY of their hard-earned money to watch this mess?

It's a false economy to offer a crappy product for a cheap price. Methinks the fans will pay much more for a better product, if the ownership was so kind to pay for one.

Tell that to the folks who run the "99 cents or less!" stores... Laughing

With things being as tight as they are now - at least, here at the Casa Evil - and the results on the field so depressingly predictable, it's hard to justify spending the $$$ - or even the time - to go to a game, even if we're sitting in the cheapest seats...

I still have five more games to go to. It is affordable entertainment. Bummer will be when they get good and I cant afford to go. I will have stuck it out through the lean years and I will be shut out in the good years.

I imagine if I lived in Phoenix I'd still be tempted to go to some more games too but, living in Tucson it's a lot easier to save the money and the four hours travel and stay home and watch them lose on HDTV.

My sentiments exactly. I was at that game against Mil, where we lost something like 17-2. I would have just turned it off. That was my first game of the year and I was like eff this...

Compared to soccer, ticket prices are a steal for MLB games. Even the games at Fenway, for the level of all round entertainment, were reasonably good value (especially if you drink beforehand Very Happy). I was really impressed.

The "product" on the field would have little bearing on the chances of me going to at least a few games a year at Chase if I could - I love the team when they suck, and I love the team when they win. The level of suck is made all the more easier with those prices.

I was at that game as well. As bad as it was it was nice to spend the time there. Chase field is like therapy to me. I find it relaxing to be there. I will be going to as many games as I can whether they are winning or losing. I may bitch, moan, bluster, and make all kinds of "Im done threats" but when all is said and done I will be first in line for tickets.
