Yesterday, at the Augusta National, Tiger Woods shot the best first round he has ever had at the tournament. He was hitting the ball straight and long. A couple putts didn't drop otherwise he might be tied with that old man at the top. Old Man Freddy Couples (way to go, Freddy!) from Seattle's Jefferson Park Course where I had my very brief fling with the game when I lived there.
This was a different Tiger, however. This was a man who looked very, very humbled. He was smiling, and smiling broadly all day. Not because he was playing well, necessarily, because he was back doing what he loved. It is quite apparent that, except for a few classless exceptions, golf fans can put a man's personal shortcomings out of their minds to appreciate the man for his greatness playing a great game.
We came to see golf at the Masters
We came to see the Master
We got what we came for.
Rock on, Tiger
I think you're gonna win it.

I have like a Bazilion stroke lead on my buddy but he wins the cash because old man river shoots the low round of the day.

Im looking to keep my lead and win some serious cut money today and maybe some low round money too.

Also got 4 or 5 guys in the mix to win it on Sunday which pays the BIG BUCKS! Wink

Damn no money yesterday as he had Chad Campbell tie for low round of the day. We also tied Cut players both losing two.

I still have a Bazilion stroke lead for team score and I have like the TOP 5 guys on the Leader board so I should get the winner too so hopefully some money today for low round and the BIG $$ tomorrow afternoon! Wink

It was a truly amazing Saturday at the Augusta National. It looked like Lee Westwood was going to run away with it as he had a five stroke lead as Phil Mickelson went into the 13th.
Mickelson eagled 13, a par 5, then eagled the par 4 14th, holing out from 135 feet away. He narrowly missed another eagle on 15.
Tiger struggled all day but finished with a nice birdie on 18. He's only four strokes back but will have to sink those putts and get a few more birdies, something that didn't happen today.
Lee Westwood has been solid all three days, twice today saving par after errant drives. However, it will be a duel between he and Phil tomorrow and I think Phil will find a way.
It will be an exciting duel between Lee and Phil and maybe someone else will catch fire and challenge them.

Nice. Had low round yesterday, low round today, low team score and the winner.

Thanks for the win Phil Wink

DHall needs to use those ASU connections and get Phil to the ballpark to throw out the first pitch!

one man did his thing, no need to go over details....

another man stuck by his wife (and mom) through that major health concern...even taking time off from his game to be by HER side...

one wife was on the other side of the world with her kids (i for one cant blame her for one second!)..

one wife is still battling a major illness...

fittingly who won....

how can anyone not be alittle choke up watching that hug on the last hole...

heard on radio she was soooooo sick she could not get out of bed all week, when he birdie on 12 she got her ass in the car and drove herself to the course....

if this is not the definition of irony, i dont know what is

FWIW can someone fly from europe to georgia in the time it takes someone to go from the 12th hole to the 18th? Wink
