Padres agreed a deal with the Whitesox

Pending approval from Peavy. Can't see him agreeing to play for Ozzie mind.

Why wouldn't he play for Ozzie? At the very least he gets on a better team and has a chance to compete for a playoff spot.

Yeah I know. Mark Grace had always been my favorite player before he was a dback. Thats why I supported them, but as Ive said that ended in 03. Im not really rooting for anyone other than the dbacks, since Id feel like a traitor. Maybe the Giants if they can get hot and pass the Dodgers though (RJ)...

I think the ballpark dimensions would scare him more than Ozzie would.

The agent for San Diego Padres pitcher Jake Peavy expressed doubt Thursday that his client is ready to sign off on a proposed trade to the Chicago White Sox.

Agent Barry Axelrod told ESPN.com's Jerry Crasnick that Peavy has a "strong preference'' to stay in the National League. That preference, along with Peavy's fondness for his new home in Southern California, could be impediments to a proposed deal that would send the pitcher to Chicago.

Hearing Peavy didn't just turn down White Sox, but made it clear that he won't accept a trade anywhere this season.

If so, then the temperature is in the eighties, while the humidity is in the high nineties, heading for 100% -- and I swear that at certain times during the summer, it goes to 101% (the Weather Bureau's version of "11" on the amplifier...) Laughing
