Is their any value other then just one player is kept? I mean contracts or get to be kept in a certain round? Because if not I would prefer team 1's take.

You get to keep every player. No salary cap. Nothing.

Team 1 would have to release 2 players from their roster, though, as they'd be 2 over the limit. And, correspondingly, Team 2 would be able to add 2 players from their roster, being 2 under the limit.

Here's an interesting trade offer I got in my foxsports league:

Hello Adam,
/> Australia Brewers has offered you a trade:

Australia Brewers trade B. Sheets (SP) , P. Fielder (1B) , D. Matsuzaka (SP) , R. Braun (3B)

Sidewinders trade C. Cordero (RP) , C. Young (CF) , J. Vazquez (SP) , M. Reynolds (3B)

Personal note from Australia Brewers :

hi, obviously i have'nt cared about the baseball fantasy in a long time, so was wondering if you want any of my players, feel free to have any of them. i chose you because you are currently coming second and the best chance to chase down the leader. cheers.

Yes, I would pass on the deal, and I would tell the guy thanks, but I didn't feel that would be fair to the rest of the league.

You don't want to win that way.

I should add that if your league is a keeper league and all the contracts of the players that Brewers is offering you are expiring, and the guys he is asking for from you have contracts that run till next year or later, than of course that is a different story. But if it's a one year league, it should be viewed as Brewers trying to throw you the league championship. It's collusion under any definition, and you should not partake.

I'd email the commish and have him take control of that team or at least lock out the owner.

Yes, lock him out, because if you don't take the trade he's sure to offer to someone else.

It's totally uncool. As commissioner of my league, I've had to lock out owners before. It's not fun, but it beats the alternative of collusion.

On another note, tell me more about this keeper league w/ contracts Shoe. I'm interested to know, since I've been tossing around the idea of introducing salary caps in my league not according to the standard "fantasy price" of a player, but by actually using the players real life salaries, therefore having team payrolls looking more like real MLB team payrolls and not fantasy team payrolls. It should be stated that my league is free for all the guys in it, so it's not like I'm gonna make them pay for anything. The salary cap just adds strategy to the league.

Thats a wide open question.....you can set up keeper leagues any way you want basically, or pretty close to it. Use CBS sportsline. They have the most options and flexibility. Just figure out your constitution and how you want to assign player salary and contract. Their commissioner tools system will allow you to do pretty much whatever you want. Oden and Levski have used those tools, and they can fill you in more.

Yes, you can take a standard roto league with a salary cap of $260 for 23 players and go from there. By the way, we'll probably have 2 openings next year if anyone is interested. Never too early to get in.

Are we going back to 12? I thought we were going to stay at 10. Is there going to be an expansion draft? First I heard of this.

I prefer 10 myself. It's thin enough as it is.

Lev and I both wanted 12, but it's been months since we talked about it. 12 teams is traditional and if we're going back to that, I'd rather it be only a 1 year aberration.

well...12 teams is traditional, but not with 40 man rosters. Wink

I liked that you at least had a small chance to improve your team with waiver wire pickups this year. Ubaldo Jimenez, Edgar Gonzalez, and a few others helped my team this year. It's a lot less interesting when you can't trade after July 4th and there is nobody on the waiver wire to pick up. JMO of course.

I do use CBS Commissioner. I have since it fist debuted. I love it, but never really utilized all of the tools for commissioner league. It looks like their salary/wildcard tool is just extremely confusing. If either Oden or Levski would be so kind as to explain how to use it for me, I'll probably start using it next year.

Anyhow, for more info on how I run my league, it's a full "dynasty" keeper, where you keep all of your players year-in and year-out. 32-man rosters. I obviously don't do salary caps, but I want to. It's 10 teams, but I want to expand out to 12 next year by doing a real keeper thing, where I'll have owners designate 18 keepers, and the remaining 14 players will be released into the FA pool for the new teams to draft from. They'll draft 28 players, and then the players that were released from teams who were not drafted by the new expansion teams will be returned to their original teams by me. Then those that are over or under 28 will have to adjust their roster accordingly, with the waiver order running.

A lot of owners don't like the releasing of 14 thing, but I like it a lot. It makes you really try and think. Like on my team, for instance, I would have to face the choice of keeping an Upton over a Hideki Matsui, or a David Price or Max Scherzer over a Brad Penny, etc. The funniest thing about my roster is that I picked up Michael Inoa the moment he cleared waivers (after CBS added him to the player pool), so now I can proudly state I "own the [fantasy] rights" to a fellow teenager

Anyhow, if either Lev or Oden could explain to me how to use the salary/wildcard tool on CBS Commissioner, that'd be awesome! Cool

Alright. I need your collective opinions on yet another trade. Keeper league, head-to-head points, full rosters kept.

Team 1 receives:

LF, Manny Ramirez (LA/FA)
1B, DH David Ortiz (BOS)

Team 2 receives:

LF, Carlos Quentin (CWS)
1B, Ryan Howard (PHI)
